Jean-Francois Suteau is doing the only thing he ever wanted to do create delicious pastries and desserts.
The native of France, who has been the head pastry chef at The Greenbrier Resort since this past December, was to the manner born his family has a history in patisserie going all the way back to 1752.
"Actually, it skipped one generation," Suteau said, explaining his father pursued another profession. "But my grandfather and so on for a few generations, they were all pastry chefs. That was the only thing I wanted to do. I guess it's in the blood."
Suteau, who was born in Nantes, began his career with apprenticeships in bakeries before he moved to Paris and then came to the United States in 1992.
"I came here just for vacation," he admitted. "And the vacation lasted for four years. I fell in love with the country."[...]”
